Grant Letter of Intent
Your Organization's Letter of Intent
A Letter of Intent is a short summary of your grant request. It can be submitted online or sent via postal mail.
What Your Letter of Intent Should Include
Your Letter of Intent should include a summary of your operating or project grant proposal. The letter should tell the Foundation what your group wants the grant for, what programs or services your organization will provide, who the intended audience is for your project or organization and how you will use the grant.
What Your Letter of Intent Should Not Include
Do not include attachments, PowerPoint presentations, supporting letters or recommendations or other supporting documentation that will be supplied in the actual grant request. You may submit your letter in these formats (other formats will be rejected):
- Microsoft Word
- Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
- .txt (Text format)
- .rtf (Rich Text format)
- .jpg, .gif .png (Image file formats)
Results of the Letter of Intent
If the Foundation is interested in your grant request through your Letter of Intent, we will invite you to submit an application online. We will notify you via email and send you a link to the online application.
Be sure that the email address "applications@hughesmemorialfoundation.org" is allowed through your spam filter in your email program.
An invitation to apply for a grant does not assure your organization of receiving a grant from the Hughes Memorial Foundation.
